ABOUT SHAUNA

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I create supportive spaces where individuals, families, and professionals can explore challenges openly—without shame, blame, or judgment—and reconnect with their capacity for growth, healthy relationships, and meaningful collaboration.

Over the course of my 30-year career, I have served as a mental health therapist, program administrator, and university instructor in education and social justice. Across these roles, my work has consistently centered on people and the relationships they have with themselves and with one another. I am committed to facilitating experiences that support healing, deepen self-reflection, strengthen collaboration, and foster both personal and professional vitality.

Therapy offers a space to explore your story at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we work toward greater clarity about who you are, what you need, and how you want to move forward. Developing a deeper relationship with your evolving self, giving voice to your needs, and cultivating compassion—for yourself and others—are central to this process. I work with both children and adults.

My clinical practice is informed by Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, trauma-informed care, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and frameworks of racial and queer identity development. I also integrate expressive and aesthetic practices into my work. Storytelling, journaling, poetry, and visual art can help regulate the nervous system, access inner experience, and reflect on the relationships that shape wellbeing. For many—especially children—creative expression provides a language for experiences that are difficult to put into words.

In my work with organizational leaders, teams, and professionals, I also take a strengths-based approach. Growth begins by anchoring in what is already working. By identifying and building on existing strengths, individuals and groups can access their best selves, leverage their skills, and move forward with clarity and intention.

At this stage of my career, my work centers on the mindful integration of therapeutic, educational, and organizational practices—always honoring the human spirit that guides our capacity to heal, learn, and grow.
